Tired of stink and robberies
Household appliances and other belongings were stolen

Flat residents living at the corner of Buller and Hunter Road are fed up with the unbearable smell of sewage, overgrown grass and robberies that are taking place.
For years now, they have been complaining about a drain at the back of their flat which is overflowing, and overgrown vegetation in the area. Many people dump refuse in the drain, which makes the situation worse.
“We can’t even go outside due to the terrible stink.”
To make matters worse, many flats and vehicles have been broken into during the past six months. Household appliances and other belongings were stolen. Residents say that criminals prowl in the long grass and plan their robberies.
“We are fed up trying to contact uThukela, as they have failed to assist us in solving this problem. We really hope that something gets done about this,” said one frustrated resident.
IFP councillor Abbas Warasally and Pieter de Bruyn went out to assist the angry residents. “I am disappointed that uThukela is not cleaning up. It is unhygienic and dangerous for the people living here,” commented Cllr Warasally.
