Police made two arrests while conducting crime prevention activities targeting illegal liquor outlets in the Ladysmith area yesterday (Thursday).
During the operation, police officers came across a tuck shop in the Peacetown area and found that the owner was selling liquor without a licence. The 37-year-old owner was arrested and paid an admission of guilt fine of R3000.
Later the same day, a 35-year-old owner of another tuck shop in the same area was found to be in possession of a small quantity of dagga. The street value of the dagga is around R300.
The suspect is due to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today.
