High spirits at St Gregory inter-house gala

The learners participated whole-heartedly and their enthusiasm tipped the points scale in favour of the green Falcons

The rainy weather couldn’t keep the learners out of the water on Thursday, February 18 for St Gregory Primary School‘s annual inter-house gala! The day was a huge success and the learners braved the cold, wet weather to compete in an assortment of items.

The gala started off with the various captains leading their house in the war cries, followed by some singing. This ensured that everyone was ready for the day and warm enough to face the water. The races alternated between fun races for all age groups and serious races for the seniors. The learners participated whole-heartedly and their enthusiasm tipped the points scale in favour of the green Falcons.

Congratulations to Josh Robberts and Sfundo Made and your Falcons for a well-deserved victory, both in the water and on the stands!

The grade R and RR classes had their own Fun/Splash Day at the school. This involved all the learners playing games inside due to the weather.

They resorted to participating in a “mini Olympics” where their fine motor skills were put to the test. Heats were held and the winners of all the activities pitted their wits against each in order to find the “Gold Winner”. Collins Bere proved to be too good for the rest of the excited learners!

Thank you to all the parents who popped in to cheer the teams and have a cup of coffee or tea both at school and at the pool.
St. Gregory Primary School is reinstating the inter-schools gala on Thursday, February 25. All are welcome to come and support the learners of local schools as they compete.
