Sarel narrowly lose to top rugby school, Kearsney

A brave effort by The Blue Lions

On March 2, Sarel’s first rugby team played against the well-known Kearsney College from Durban. The team played really well, but sadly lost 14-22. Thank you to everyone who came to support the team.
The past weekend the netball, hockey and rugby teams faced Empangeni High School. The rugby teams did exceptionally well: 1st team won 59-19, second team won 36-7, u/16 won 31-0, u/15 won 47-10 and u/14 won 50-0.

The netball team scores were as follows: 1st team 21-22. It was a very close match and the school was very impressed with the girls’ performance. The second team lost 5-16, u/14A won 17-6, u/14B lost 6-7, u/15A lost 7-8, u15B lost 3-2, u/16A lost 6-23 and u/16B lost 8-14. Many scores were only one goal away from a draw.

Well done, girls. The hockey team scores were as follows: first team lost 4-1, second team drew 2-2, u/16 lost 0-1 and u/14 lost 2-1. The boys’ team won 3-0: congratulations.
