DHS hockey boys up their skills at Kearsney College

The Kearsney tour was absolutely amazing.

The Kearsney tour was absolutely amazing.
Their campus is beautiful and they were great hosts. The boys really enjoyed their hospitality and their food. They were lucky to have great weather whilst South African hockey legend, Alan Paton, taught them new tricks on the park. He was very proactive and really made an impact on each player’s game and perspective on hockey.
The boys played 11 matches against schools like Bryanston, Linden, Helpmekaar, Northcliff, Trinity College and Maragon Private. They won five games, drew three and lost three. They astounded the crowds as people did not really expect a team that comes from the sticks to play so well! The boys also encountered indoor hockey for the first time and really learned a lot!
They were great ambassadors for Dundee High and were complimented on their hockey skills, their manners, as well as their general behaviour. DHS is proud to have such a wonderful team under the guidance of a great coach, Mr Kumalo (Mr K), and manageress, Mrs Raffenberg, who play a fundamental role in the development of these young gentlemen on and off the park. The boys really benefited from this tour and are looking forward to an amazing season where they can apply all their newly acquired skills.
