Meals on Wheels bids farewell to American volunteer

Her work entailed mostly youth development through clubs, camps and working with schools to educate and inspire the youth to live healthy lifestyles

The Director of Meals on Wheels Food Security and Development Agency Mr Samkelo Mlambo and the staff bid a farewell to Ntokozo Makhathini (Melinda Morgan), an American Citizen who came as a volunteer three years ago to assist the organisation.

For two years she lived with the Makhathini family in the heart of Ntabamhlophe where she was given her adopted name. She thereafter re-located to 45 Connor Street where she lived for another year. In the time she was here she adopted the Zulu culture and at her departure she was dressed in cultural attire, she spoke and sang in Zulu and did a traditional dance.

She was accompanied by two of her friends from America who captivated the audience in Ntabamhlophe. Her work entailed mostly youth development through clubs, camps and working with schools to educate and inspire the youth to live healthy lifestyles. Through the United States Peace Corps she was responsible for implementing Community HIV/Aids Outreach Programs.

She also worked hand in hand with Meals on Wheels Food Security and Development Agency in working towards community development and poverty alleviation.

We are thankful to this spirited young lady for a mission successfully fulfilled, the happy memories she left behind with a twinkle in her eye she promised “I will be back.” Thank you Melinda may the good Lord continue to bless you and your dear family back home.
