KZN nail down 15 suspects in crime swoop

KwaZulu-Natal police were busy over the weekend making sure that those who were wanted for different crimes are brought to book. A number of operations which started from last Friday  until Monday morning were conducted in the province that led to the arrest of a total of 15 wanted suspects.

These suspects were arrested for various crimes such as murder, possession of drugs, car hijacking, theft of motor vehicle, business robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. Drugs such as Ecstasy Tablets, Whoonga capsules and Crystal methacathinone as well as six unlicensed firearms were recovered.  Arrested suspects will appear today  in various courts in the province.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni praised the members who went out in full force tracing these wanted criminals. ‘The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistics to establish if they were used in any other crimes in the province. I also appeal to the members of the community to continue giving us information about these criminals who are wanted and who are in possession of illegal firearms, she said.
