Man has two I.D. books issued by Home Affairs

The Department has promised to investigate the matter with immediate effect.

Some know him as Sthembiso, others know him as Emmanuel, it all depends on which ID he uses.
A KwaZulu-Natal man has left Department of Home Affairs officials bewildered after it was discovered he owns two identity documents.

Both ID’s have the same photo but different names, surnames and ID. On one he is registered as Sthembiso Innocent Dladla born in 1988. In the other he is Emmanuel Madida, born in 1985. One ID was registered in Diepkloof, Johannesburg and the second in Newcastle.

ID 2
Newcastle Home Affairs officials confirmed that both ID books belong to him, however, they cannot explain how the system did not pick up that he already owned an identity document when he applied for the second one.
The Department has promised to investigate the matter with immediate effect.
