The Shawe family have made deep inroads in the agricultural industry in this area. Condolences to his wife, family and friends.

More details when these become available.  The Shawe family have trodden deep roots in the area – especially in agricultural circles.

In 2012 his son, George Junior, was named the winner of the prestigious Molatek Stock Farmer of the Year award.

George, who started farming in 1991, runs an extensive Beefmaster herd on sour-veld, and markets the offspring through the farm feedlot. Judges commented that ‘George’s operation is an eye-opener to see what can be done under extensive conditions.’

His (now late)  dad, George Shawe (Snr), moved to the farm in 1945 and started farming in 1950 – the farm has been in the family for 67 years.
