Amahle and Aphiwe make DJS proud

Congratulations to Amahle Mdubheki and Aphiwe Shabangu who were chosen for the u/13 KZN Inland Provincial group.

Utrecht Mini-Sportdag
Op 14 Mei het Dundee Juniorskool gaan deelneem aan Utrecht se jaarlikse Mini-Sportdag. Dit was ‘n groot sukses met goeie uitslae. Die spanne het soos volg presteer:
Netbal: 0/7: speel 4; wen 1; gelykop 1 verloor 2, 0/8: speel 4; wen 0; gelykop 1 verloor 3 en 0/9: speel 4; wen 2; verloor 2. Hokkie (dogters): 0/7: speel 4; gelykop 1; verloor 3, 0/8A: speel 4; wen 4, 0/8B: speel 4; wen 2; verloor 2 en 0/9: speel 4; gelykop 1; verloor 3. Rugby: 0/7A: speel 4; wen 2; verloor 2, 0/7B: speel 4, wen 2; verloor 2, 0/8A: speel 4; wen 3; gelykop 1 en 0/8B: speel 4; wen 0; verloor 4.
DJS sport against Arbour Park
On May 17 Dundee Junior School visited Arbor Park of Newcastle for their annual fixture. All the senior teams participated and did very well. The results are as follows:
Netball: u/10: Won 3 – 2 ; u/11: Won 5 – 3 ; 2nd: Lost 5 – 13 ; 1st: Lost 14 – 25. Hockey (Girls): u/10: Won 3 – 1 ; 2nd: Won 2 – 0 ; 1st: Drew 1 – 1. Rugby: u/9: Won 5 – 5 ; u/11: Won 25 – 5 ; 1st: Won 24 – 12.
KZN Trials
A number of DJS hockey boys and girls represented Umzinyathi at the KZN trials which were held this past weekend. Congratulations to Amahle Mdubheki and Aphiwe Shabangu who were chosen for the u/13 KZN Inland Provincial group. Both the Jukskei and Chess teams of DJS took part in the Top Schools Umzinyathi tournament held in Msinga. Both teams made it and will be going to the Inter Provincial trials to be held on June 3 – 5 in Durban. Good luck to them!

DJS Jukskei
On May 7, the Jukskei Team went to the Umzinyathi top school games to play games, both girls and boys won games so they will take part on June 3-5 at the Provincial games that will be held in Durban.
DJS Mini-Sportdag
Op 7 Mei was dit weereens’n miernes van bedrywighede by die skool. Nie minder as 13 skole het kom deelneem en met sowat 105 spannetjies wat meegeding het, was dit een groot fees. Thanks to all the teams that participated, all of you are winners! A very big thank you to all the coaches and parents of the different schools for your support. Dundee Junior School wants to thank all the staff and parents for their part to help making this day a big success.

DJS sport against NRS
On May 11 NRS of Vryheid visited Dundee Junior School for their annual fixture. All the senior teams participate in a very relaxing atmosphere and did very well against some strong competition. Die uitslae behaal is soos volg, DJS se tellings eerste:

On the same day, the hockey boys went to Newcastle and participated in a tournament at St Dom’s. For some of them it was the first time to play on Astro and this was definitely a highlight. They played 3 games; drew 2 and lost 1.
