Ichthus goes for gold at KZNCSSA Winter sports
Ichthus is very proud of you all! Ichthus would like to thank all the teachers who assisted as officials and the parents who supported their children over the weekend.
On May 20 the Ichthus u/11 and u/13 winter sports teams travelled to Durban for the annual KZNCSSA winter sports tournament, which was held over the Friday and Saturday at Victory Christian Academy in Umhlanga. Cross country, hockey, netball, rugby, soccer and volleyball were on the fixtures list over the two days, with the Ichthus teams performing beautifully against schools from Durban Central, Durban North and Durban South, Northern KZN and Northern Coastal.
At the end of the weekend, the following Ichthus teams were awarded gold medal and silver medals:
Gold medals were awarded to: Girls u/11 and u/13 hockey, Girls u/13 volleyball, Girls u/13 soccer and Girls u/13 netball.
Silver medals were awarded to: Boys u/11 and u/13 hockey, Boys u/13 volleyball, Girls u/11 soccer.
The following learners were selected for their KZNCSSA colours:
Nhlosenhle Madela: hockey. Mabotse Mawila: netball. Owethu Mbatha: soccer, hockey.
Rhuben Malan: hockey. Khwezi Molefe: hockey. Bongithemba Mwali: hockey. Amahle Gwala: Hockey. Zandisiwe Maphalala: Hockey, Netball. Siphume Ntombela: Rugby, Hockey.
Hayden Caldecott: Hockey, Volleyball.
Bianca Meintjes: Soccer, Hockey, Volleyball, Netball. Sisanda Mthombeni: hockey, volleyball, netball. Sphesihle Maphalala: hockey, netball. Ntumiseng Motloung: soccer, hockey, volleyball, netball.
Nothile Mgabhi: hockey, volleyball, soccer, netball.
Thayne Tiley: hockey.
