Curry Parlour lends a hand on a cold winter’s night

A warm-hearted donation

Youth Day was marked by members of The Curry Parlour’s social club taking the time to hand out winter blankets to the homeless and needy in central Dundee last Thursday evening.
Money was collected over the last two weeks and over 40 blankets were needed. Once the sunsets, Dundee takes on a different hue – and ‘areas where the poorer go and seek shelter’ were sought out and blankets given to those who sleep on the pavement opposite the police station, car guards, to men whose home is in the overgrown veld near the railway line and children and adults who have made an abandoned building on McKenzie Street their home.
The taxi rank was also visited and blankets passed on to those searching for food in the dustbins. Two homes, where there is a need, were also checked up on and blankets distributed.  The Curry Parlour

thanks all those who supported the Winter Blanket Drive.
