Polar Bear Swim at Egerton

Some of the teachers were even brave enough to swim, along with the pupils

Egerton Primary held their annual Polar Bear Swim today (Thursday) at the school swimming pool.

This event sees ‘daring’ children swimming a length of the icy-cold pool in the middle of winter.

Some of the teachers were even brave enough to swim, along with the pupils.

There was lots of nervous laughter and trepidation before they finally took the plunge and dived into the freezing water. As a reward for their efforts and bravery, all the swimmers were given a cup of lovely hot chocolate with marshmallows to warm them up again as they stood shivering in their towels.
