Young cater to the elderly on Mandela Day

The learners took the time to serve the elderly tea and cake and have a chat with them

Monday, July 18 marked Mandela Day.

On this day people from around the world take 67 minutes out of their day and perform community service.

This is a tribute to South African icon and former President Nelson Mandela. At Shepstone Place – Home for the Aged on Monday, there was a flurry of activity as learners and educators from ML Sultan Estcourt Primary School visited the residents.

The learners took the time to serve the elderly tea and cake and have a chat with them. This was appreciated by the staff and residents of Shepstone Place.
