A woman was shot and killed on Thursday night in the Green Point area near Bergville.

She was riddled with bullets as gunmen shot her repeatedly. At least 11 bullets hit her.

Her motionless body was left lying in a pool of blood, a gruesome scene awaiting the arrival of Bergville police and emergency personnel.

Even hardened officers were visibly shaken.

The motive behind the shooting is unclear at this stage.
