2 arrests for possession of stolen cosmetics

It was established that the man worked as a security guard at a local pharmaceutical warehouse and that the property was stolen from the warehouse

Two men were arrested after Ladysmith K9 officers received a tip-off about a suspicious-looking man selling cosmetics along Illing Road yesterday (Thursday) morning.

Officers rushed out to the location, where they found a 22-year-old man with a bag filled with various cosmetics. He was unable to explain where he had obtained the cosmetics and upon further investigation, police officers were taken to a premises in the Umbulwane area, where they found another man.

The second man, aged 32, was found in possession of more cosmetics.

It was then established that the man worked as a security guard at a local pharmaceutical warehouse and that the property was stolen from the warehouse a few days ago.

The men were arrested and both suspects will appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Friday), facing charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property.
