Three men face drug-related charges after a large quantity of loose dagga was found in the vehicle they were travelling in.
On Friday, vigilant Colenso police officers who were patrolling along the R103 main road between Colenso and Estcourt came across a suspicious-looking bakkie.
The vehicle was pulled over for a routine check and a search turned up three bags containing loose dagga.
The drugs weighed in at 80kg with a street value of about R12,000.
The three occupants were arrested and the vehicle was impounded by police.
The three suspects, aged between 20 and 56, will appear in the Weenen Magistrate’s Court today (Monday) for dealing in dagga.
