Durable street bins being acquired

Locals have noticed that refuse is now being dumped around the damaged bins

During July disgruntled political party members illegally marched through town, toppling and breaking refuse bins and destroying other infrastructure.

A month later and the broken bins have not yet been replaced. Locals have noticed that refuse is now being dumped around the damaged bins, causing an unsightly and unhygienic situation in the Central Business District (CBD).

These concerns were relayed to Umtshezi’s Acting Municipal Manager Elphas Dladla who said that the municipality is in the process of acquiring more durable street bins, which are suitable for outdoor use.
