On Saturday, a 42-year-old man was at a hiking spot in Short Street when he was approached by five men who threatened him with a knife, assaulted him and then robbed him of cash and a cell-phone.
Ladysmith police were alerted and within minutes they were at the scene.
The suspects were chased and three of them were caught. Two managed to elude capture.
The arrested suspects, one aged 19 and two aged 29, appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Monday) on charges of robbery.
