Darkness descends, forcing soccer match replay

The goalkeepers complained that they couldn't see the ball properly

A game of soccer that was contested yesterday (October 9) at the Limit Hill sports grounds will have to be replayed due to failing light conditions and the goalkeepers saying they couldn’t see the ball properly.

Playing in the final stages of a four-team tournament, Scorpions FC and Joint Ventures failed to get the ball into the net and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

It was then that darkness began to fall sooner than anticipated due to dark clouds and cold weather. This saw both goalkeepers raising objections against a penalty shoot-out being held to decide the winners, as they said it was getting too dark for them to see the ball.

The coaches of the two teams then decided that the match should be replayed this coming Sunday (October 16), so that means double the excitement for the fans. Another 90 scintillating minutes of attacking football awaits!

At yesterday’s match, the spectators were treated to great skills as they blew Vuvuzelas and cheered on the players.
