NEWCASTLE – The elderly usually live peaceful lives; a welcome reward for a lifetime of hard work and sacrifices.

However, some are never able to enjoy their twilight years, as Alzheimer’s and Parkison’s disease deprive them of the joys of retirement.

Over the past year, the Leaving a Legacy initiative, spearheaded by Susan Pitout, has dedicated itself to raising funds for the elderly residents of La Gratitude Home for the Aged.

This initiative has not gone unnoticed by the board of control and management of the home.

In appreciation, management treated Leaving a Legacy members and other sponsors who have contributed to La Gratitude over the year, to a scrumptious breakfast on Saturday

“This is our way of saying thank you to the Leaving a Legacy members for their nappy drive and other donations they have made, as well as a special thanks for others who contributed to our bazaar which was held in May,” said CEO of La Gratitude, Jomari Batista.
