Caxton Local Newspapers are looking for trainee multi-media journalists to join the 2017 Caxton Editorial Cadet School’s one-year training programme with a possible second-year learnership extension.  Applicants who meet the criteria will be invited for interviews.

All potential candidates will have to show evidence of the following:

National Senior Certificate with English passed;

Strong written and oral communication skills;

A keen interest in news, current affairs, people and business;

Accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation;

Social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/or own blog) activity;

An ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines;

Computer proficiency;

An ability to grasp complex issues quickly and explain them in simple, concise language;

Putting awkward or unwanted questions to people who do not wish to answer;

Working long and irregular hours;

Residing in the operational area of this newspaper;

Studying towards a learner’s/ drivers license and

Access to a vehicle
