Welcome rain falls as the jacarandas bloom
Residents scan the sky anxiously waiting for the next downpour of rain

Falls of rain of up to 18mm were recorded in the Endumeni area over the past three days. The rain brings some relief to the crippling drought that has gripped the area for the past 18 months.
Farmers are hopeful that the light rain will soon herald a ‘real big downpour’. The storms knocked out the electricity on Friday evening for over an hour. The outage was blamed on an Eskom fault and was widespread from Dannhauser to Endumeni.
The jacarandas are also out in bloom bringing a purple shade of colour to Dundee and Glencoe.
