Helping the town go pink for cancer

Every week, most of the supporters of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign sent photos of how they had wrapped a tree, gate, pillar or even one of their children in pink fabric

RE/MAX of Southern Africa Foundation is a non-profit organisation that runs various community-based projects throughout the year. Some of the projects are Coats & Cans, Red Cross Children’s Hospital Outpatient Burns Clinic Project and Cuppa for Cancer, to name but a few.

RE/MAX Team decided they would embrace the Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign, as we all feel very passionate about it. They requested that all proceeds of this campaign be kept local and the benefits be used for persons in need, rather than being used on a national level.

This campaign was started at the beginning of September. The first couple of weeks sold only a few metres of fabric and only once Renika Sewpersadh and Durban Overall got involved did the campaign REALLY take off.

RE/MAX Team sold over 1.8 kilometres of fabric to the Ladysmith and surrounding communities.
Farmers, children saving their pocket money and corporates all embraced this worthy cause.

Every week, most of the supporters of the BCA Campaign sent photos of how they had wrapped a tree, gate, pillar or even one of their children. All of these were posted onto the “RE /MAX Team Ladysmith” Facebook page. Please check the page out to see how artistic and original all of the “pink fabric” was displayed.

They feel honoured to be part of this worthy cause and would like to thank the community of Ladysmith for wrapping the town pink.

Don’t forget that MOVEMBER is the month to raise awareness of men’s health and various cancers such as prostate cancer. Please promise yourselves to have an annual check-up, as early detection save lives.

RE/MAX Team requests that everyone keep their pink fabric up until the end of November.
