Respected lawyer passes on

Johan de Wet (Joe), long serving Chairman, Attorney and Conveyancer of Acutt & Worthington Inc., Dundee, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 16, in Newcastle.
He moved from Pietermaritzburg to Dundee with his young family, to set up his first law practice in the mid-1970s and lived in Dundee until his retirement at age 70 in May 2016 .
“We remember him with respect for his service to his community in the field of law, with love from present and past staff members and his devotion to us all,” said colleague, Humphrey Browning.
“I quote his oft said, “ the practice of Law with integrity and honour, is the noblest profession of all.The language of Law, is the most precise and pure, beautifully written language of all.”
“Our hearts go out to his family We will miss you Joe, your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten,” said the Directors and staff of Acutt & Worthington Inc., Dundee and Newcastle Offices.
The date and venue of his memorial service in Dundee is still to be finalised.
