Riley, the missing dog, is back with his owners

After the initial Ladysmith Gazette story and a number of online updates, people all over started searching for Riley

Riley, the missing dog, has been found.

He was found yesterday (November 19) along the N3 by locals after they had seen flyers and Gazette stories that had been published online.

Riley went missing after his owners were involved in a single vehicle motor accident while heading north from Pietermaritzburg towards the Bergville toll plaza, about 10km before the Bergville Plaza.

After the accident, the owners of the missing dog contacted the Ladysmith Gazette, who immediately sprung into action to help. After the initial story and a number of updates were published online, people all over started searching for Riley.

Yesterday afternoon, RTI officers, together with volunteers, went out and successfully reunited Riley with his rightful owners. The dog was unharmed and in good condition.

The locals who found the dog received a reward for their efforts.
