At last! Glencoe has water again

Despite another false start or two, the flow is back and pressure restored.

It is back!  After days of false hopes, raised tempers and dry taps, water is again flowing in the central residential area of Glencoe.

Taps first ran dry last Thursday and Umzinyathi District Municipality workers have been working flat-out to restore the supply.

However, their efforts could not get the supply going again and residents threatened revolt as the crisis dragged on for days.

Eventually, specialist engineers were brought in from Newcastle.  Despite another false start or two, the flow is official back and pressure restored.
