Good news for those who use the ‘alternative route to Durban’
Motorists are warned that a section of the road has been temporarily turned into a gravel road as the existing, fractured tar has been removed.

Year of motorists’ frustration over the condition of the Pomeroy/Greytown road may soon ease as work continues apace on the rehabilitation of this stretch of road.
Used as a faster alternative route to Durban to avoid the toll gates, the road is considered treacherous by many because of the poor condition of the surface, the many animals that stray in front of vehicles and the winding bends, that although make for a scenic drive, also classify the route as ‘dangerous’.
Further good news for those using the route as a quicker drive to the King Shaka Airport is that work on the widening of the infamous single lane bridge over the Tugela River at Tugela Ferry is continuing
