Driver fights for his life after head-on collision

It took Sharaj Rescue Services and Colenso Emergency Services under 15 minutes to extricate the trapped driver

A truck and a bakkie were involved in a head-on collision on Wednesday night (November 30) along the Weenen/Muden road.

The driver of the bakkie was critically injured and trapped in the vehicle.

Two people sustained moderate injuries and one slight injuries.

The road was closed until rescue technicians had freed the trapped accident victim.

It took Sharaj Rescue Services and Colenso Emergency Services under 15 minutes to extricate the trapped driver from the mangled wreckage.

All the injured were stabilised and transported to hospital, where the driver of the bakkie is currently fighting for his life.

Police, RTI, emergency services and breakdown services were on scene.
