16 injured when taxi overturns

“Ten patients were in a serious condition and six patients had minor injuries"

As the festive season approaches, paramedics are advising motorists to be extremely cautious on the road.

This advice follows an accident, which involved a taxi and resulted in multiple injuries.

The taxi, travelling from Johannesburg, was towing a trailer.

The vehicle veered off the road and overturned on the N3 about 10 kilometers from Estcourt just after 3am today, Wednesday, December 7.
Emergency workers attended the scene and treated 16 people.

“Ten patients were in a serious condition and six patients had minor injuries. The patients were transported to Estcourt Hospital,” commented Emergency Medial Rescue spokesperson Robert Mckenzie.

“We advise motorist to please be extremely cautious on the roads, to obey all the road rules and to not drive while fatigued,” he added.
