Seminar keeps doctors updated on the latest developments

The seminar was attended by close to 100 doctors and partners from Dundee, Estcourt, Colenso, Bergville and Ladysmith

Lancet Laboratories, together with Aspen Pharmaceutical, co-hosted a Continuous Medical Education (CME) seminar on Wednesday evening last week at the Crown Hotel.

This seminar is held annually and the purpose of the event is to keep doctors updated on guidelines in the treatment of community-acquired infections.

The guests were given a warm welcome by Lancet staff and served beverages before being led to their seating at the tables.

The seminar was attended by close to 100 doctors and partners from Dundee, Estcourt, Colenso, Bergville and Ladysmith. The guests were engrossed by the topics under discussion, which highlighted sexually transmitted diseases such as Genital Herpes and Gonorrhoea, ‘A Way Forward’ and the usage of antibiotics, led by Dr AK Peer (Micro Pathologist) from Durban.

Slides were shown on how to deal with patients and how to work with patients.

The educational seminar was enjoyed by all who attended, and they left wiser and more knowledgeable.

Once the seminar was over, guests had the chance to interact with each other and were served a scrumptious five-course meal.

Lancet Laboratories management would like to thank La Verna Hospital, as well as the doctors for their continuous support and for attending the function.
