95mm of rain measured in Hattingspruit down pour

The rain was widely welcomed but it also brought with it damage

The  extent of yesterday’s cloud burst in the Hattingspruit area is starkly realised in this video taken on Mark and Gaby Stein’s farm.

Gaby said the water came thundering through their property, turning the lands into dams.  Over 95mm of rain was measured.  A tornado was also seen in the area shortly before the rain pelted down, bursting farm dams and flowing rapidly into the nearly dried-up Tom Worthington dam.
