Al-Imdaad to the rescue, distributing water to households

The team, along with its volunteers, went out to the affected areas and distributed five-litre bottles of water

Residents of Acaciavale and surrounding areas were left without water on Friday due to lightning that struck the main pump at the Ezakheni Water Works on Wednesday night.

Over 250,000 homes ran dry while uThukela and Eskom repaired the damage after Wednesday night’s hailstorm.

Al-Imdaad Foundation (AIF) project co-ordinator Ahmad Karrim had numerous requests from the community for water.

The AIF team, along with its volunteers, went out to the affected areas and distributed five-litre bottles of water to households.
