Rest in Peace Thabi Khuluse; a man of many talents
"He was a multi-talented, humble, natural and brilliant artist with many innovative ideas."
The Newcastle Department of Arts, Culture and Amenities, Carnegie Art Gallery and local artists expressed their condolences to family and friends of Thabi Khuluse, who passed away last week.
His funeral was held on December 10.

“This was a sad day in South Africa to lose such a well known performing artists such as Mr Khuluse,” said Garnegie Art Gallery Curator, Phumzile Dlamini.
Khuluse was born in Pimville, Soweto, and spent time at the Jubilee Art Centre, where he studied under great artists such as Sydney Khumalo and Cecil Skotnes.
“He was a multi-talented, humble, natural and brilliant artist with many innovative ideas.”
Khuluse produced a variety of masterpieces using different media and techniques such as sculptures (bronze and wood) printing, paintings, paper mache and many more.
Mr Khuluse sculptured the first bust of the former State President, Nelson Mandela for his retirement, named the Siyabonga Madiba.
