6 sex offenders behind bars
The suspects were arrested in the Ladysmith, Bergville, Ematsheni, Ezakheni and Ekuvukeni areas
Six suspects who were being sought for cases of rape and sexual assault are now behind bars.
Relating to cases in the Uthukela area, the six were arrested by officers attached to the Ladysmith Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) on Saturday night (January 21) during a suspect raid operation.
Ranging in ages from 12 to 84 years old, the suspects were arrested in the Ladysmith, Bergville, Ematsheni, Ezakheni and Ekuvukeni areas.
They will appear in various courts in the Uthukela area on Monday (January 23), while the juvenile will be dealt with in terms of the Child Justice Act.
