Issued by Nardini Convent School
WELCOME back to all our pupils and a special word of welcome to our Grade ones and new members of staff, Mrs Crathorne and Mrs de Villiers.
On January 23, Nardini celebrated 60 years as a school. We started the day with a celebratory Mass to thank the Lord for His goodness and provision over all these years. Of course, it being the school’s birthday, ‘Happy Birthday’ was sung, there was cake for all and we also took a photo of the whole school for posterity.
The school opened its doors in 1957 to five children in the newly built building opposite the convent. Soon three more pupils joined the class ones and in 1958 we had 17 new class ones and so we have grown from strength to strength with 400 on the roll in 2017.
Thanks to the Nardini Sisters for their vision to establish a school of excellence, to parents and pupils, past and present, for their support and to Almighty God for blessing this work.
