Emotions soar among St Gregory learners

Staff and learners proudly wore green and gold in remembrance of Joost van der Westhuizen and the J9 Foundation

An “overwhelming WOW” is the only way to explain the atmosphere in the St Gregory Primary School hall during our Friday assembly when Mr Jordaan spoke to the children about Joost van de Westhuizen and the J9 Foundation.

From an amazing sports hero to the an inspirational man who never gave up even after being diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and eventually became confined to a wheelchair and experienced speech problems, yet still raised awareness of the disease through his charity, the J9 Foundation.

Staff and learners proudly wore our green and gold in remembrance of this legend as a tribute to Joost van der Westhuizen and the J9 Foundation on the day of his memorial service.
