Game supporting safe drinking water

As a major social contributor in the most poverty stricken areas and the communities it operates in, Game stores is a staunch advocator for the advancement of disadvantaged children.

NEWCASTLE – Despite the fact that access to clean water is a basic human need, it is not available to everyone around the world.

Countless communities do not have access to safe drinking water, putting them at risk of contracting diseases such as typhoid, bilharzia, cholera and diarrhea; which is reported to be the third leading cause of death among children under five years of age.

Clean water does not only prevent water related diseases, it also has a direct effect on national productivity, as it keeps individuals in good health which will in turn enable them to work and attend school.

As a major social contributor in the most poverty stricken areas and the communities it operates in, Game stores is a staunch advocator for the advancement of disadvantaged children.

As testament of this, Game has teamed up with Procter and Gamble (P&G) in the Children Safe Drinking Water campaign. For every P&G product purchased at Game between February 15 and March 15, Procter and Gamble will donate one sachet of safe drinking water purifier to families in need of clean and safe drinking.

Each four-gram sachet can purify 10 litres of heavily contaminated water in just 30 minutes, that’s enough clean water to sustain a family of five for a day.

Visit your nearest Game store and help a child while caring for yourself and your little one.
