Service delivery protests in the Bruntville area near Mooi River have led to the closure of the R622 to Greytown this morning (March 9). Protests have been going on for the last few days.
Police are on scene and clearing burning tyres from the road.
Although groups have been reported to be heading to the N3, it is believed they have turned back.
The situation is fluid and motorists are urged to exercise caution in the area.
