Housebreaking suspects arrested in Ladysmith

One suspect was initially arrested in Illing Road on a warrant of arrest for a housebreaking case which occurred in August 2015

Four housebreakers appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Monday (March 13) after being arrested on Friday.

The men are aged between 21 and 38 years old.

One suspect was initially arrested in Illing Road on a warrant of arrest for a housebreaking case which occurred in August 2015. The man was spotted by vigilant police officers. This led to three others in the same case also being arrested.

Police suspect that the same men may be responsible for several street robberies, housebreakings and house robberies that have occurred recently in the Convent and Egerton Road areas. An identity parade will be conducted soon.

Following the arrest of these four suspects, police arrested another two people for receiving stolen property. Items such as cell-phones, a laptop and shoes were seized by police.
