Popular former Dundee High School teacher, Warren Boggs, currently lives in Australia after leaving Dundee for Rhodes University.
After suffering illness and spending 14 months in a Perth hospital, Warren is on the mend and writes for the Courier from ‘Down Under’:”I am delighted to say that I am feeling well and very happy. I have moved into a ground floor unit 2km from the Perth CBD which I started renting in January 2017. My pressure injuries have healed and the scars have proven to be robust over the last four months of work getting me moving in a wheelchair again. I celebrated my newfound freedom by attending outdoor concerts by Simple Minds and the B52s on February 2.

I am very much looking forward to the camaraderie of other wheelies.

“I am enjoying getting back into life by cooking my own food, gardening, wheeling around the cosmopolitan neighbourhood and starting a new job.
“I am buying a six-cylinder station wagon and popping down regularly to my local pub for happy hour. I have joined the wheelchair sports association and will soon be playing tennis, hand-cycling and getting stuck into a few other sports like lawn bowls, table tennis, and shooting. I am very much looking forward to the camaraderie of other wheelies.
I would like to give a big shout out to my friends in Dundee who I thought of regularly during my long stay in hospital. Thinking fondly of all those who helped keep me sane and determined during 2016.”
