Poor state of Mcfarlane Street
"This reckless dump is quite filthy and is attracting rats, snakes and other dangerous insects and animals to the place"
The state of Mcfarlane Street has come under fire recently with residents commenting on the poor conditions of this area.
A resident who snapped a photo said: “It’s shocking that Macfarlane Street has turned to Ntabamhlophe road. As owners, we urge Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality to come to our rescue.”
Another resident remarked about the scrap metal that is dumped on the roadside.

“This reckless dump is quite filthy and is attracting rats, snakes and other dangerous insects and animals to the place,” said the resident.
Apart from the illegal dumping, the resident remarked about trucks parking on the road, which obscures visibility. These concerns have been sent to Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality on two occasions, after complaints from two residents, no response was received yet.
“One is then forced to ask, will the municipality only act when there is an accident on Mcfarlane Street?” questioned a resident from the street.
