BARRY HERTZOG PARK – A house in FW Beyers Street, Barry Hertzog Park was broken into in broad daylight on Wednesday, March 22.
The security company claimed they received the signal that the alarm had been triggered at the residence, and responded in a matter of minutes.
The suspect was caught red-handed inside the house.
“Our reaction team caught the man with various items from the house in his possession,” said Vino Sewpaul, manager of the security company.
The 32-year-old suspect was apprehended on the scene.
Police were alerted and arrested the suspect. A case of residential burglary was opened.
“Clothing, shoes, electronic devices, a schoolbag, a DVD player and camera equipment, were recovered,” said SAPS Communication Liaison and Marketing officer, Lizzy Arumugam.
