UPDATE: Another breakthrough in the Solik murders

Three more suspects have arrested in connection with the murdered Christine and Roger Solik. Nottingham Road police, together with members of the K9 Task Team arrested three wanted suspects, aged between 31 and 42, in Umlazi and Impendle on Friday evening.
In February the couple was beaten, robbed and assaulted at their estate in Nottingham Road, thereafter they were abducted and murdered.
The lifeless bodies of Christine and Roger were found bound in Impendle, about 70 kilometres from their home.

The main suspect was arrested when information directed the police and K9 team to Umlazi. The other two were arrested in Impendle, west of Pietermaritzburg. These suspects were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and suspected stolen property.

One of the recovered firearms was reported stolen in Orlando. The recovered firearms will be sent for ballistic testing.
“We’re delighted that the criminals who believed that they would break the law and hide are now arrested.
“We will ensure that the suspects are successfully prosecuted,” said the KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa as he welcomed the arrest and praised the police and K9 team members for their perseverance.
The arrested suspects appeared before the Howick Magistrate’s Court.
