Ntabamhlophe stock sale is a boost for farmers
The highest bid for a bull during the auction was R13 800 and the lowest for a cow was R4 200
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Veterinary Services) together with Vleissentraal held a stock sale last Thursday.
The sale was held at Ezinyosini in Ntabamhlophe, and acted as a method for local farmers and cattle owners to profit from their livestock.
Area Animal Health Technician, Tau Senye would like to encourage local farmers to attend the stock sales and bring along cattle to sell. He added that the farmers must make good use of the facilities available and continue to take good care of the stock sale yard.
The highest bid for a bull during the auction was R13 800 and the lowest for a cow was R4 200. The total amount of cattle at the stock sale was 55 and of those, 52 were sold.
A profit of R416 100 was made in sales and 14 temporary jobs were created.
