Complaining about overgrown grass in Link Road and Progress Road, property and business owner Mr Sunny Sewparsad feels that the municipality lacks competence when it comes to service delivery.
Mr Sewparsad said they have asked the municipality to come and cut the long grass, but municipal workers never show up. He also states that the grass is so long that it’s even hard to see traffic signs such as stop signs.

In an email that was sent by Mr Sewparsad to the municipality, he kindly asked them to come and cut the grass. The email reads, “Kindly attend to the above subject (overgrown grass and trees in storm-water drains in Progress Road and Link Road).
“The grass is now overgrown and a bad reflection on our municipality and service provision. Furthermore, there are many schoolchildren who use this route and the high temperatures are bound to infest these areas with snakes.”
The email also states that they phoned the municipality with a complaint, but they could not give them a reference number.
The email was sent to the municipal manager and Mr Sewparsad states that they have never received a response, leaving him with questions about the municipality’s competence.
“Both these roads are untidy and filled with overgrown grass. There are also trees that are growing from the storm-water drains. This is unacceptable,” said Mr Sewparsad. He pleads with the municipality to come and cut the grass to ensure a safe and clean environment for everyone.
