A bout of road rage is believed to behind an incident where a pedestrian, accused of damaging a car mirror, was struck in the face with a pistol butt.
Police, who did not reveal the exact location of the incident, said the pedestrian was walking home at about 1.30pm on Friday with two friends when a white bakkie stopped in front of them.
The driver accused one of the men of damaging the side mirror on his bakkie. He then pistol-whipped the man, causing two open wounds – one on his chin and the other on his forehead. The driver then took the man to his house where he demanded his bankcard and identity documents. The driver then left. His victim reported the attack to the police who are currently investigating.
