Mrs Goodoon from Estcourt High School receives Savannalee Hodgkinson's award for Top Candidate in the Circuit from representatives of the Education Department and sponsors.

On March 27 the local Department of Education held their 2016 senior certificate excellence awards function at the Estcourt Town Hall.

As the first term neared its end, members of the department, educators, learners, and their parents within Estcourt’s Circuit Management Centre attended the function.

Nestle has been funding these awards since 2002 and each year excellence is celebrated with learners, schools and educators that have excelled in the National Senior Certificate exams.

Loud cheers and applause reverberated through the hall with the issuing of each well-earned award as parents, educators and learners basked in pride.

Some of the categories were top school per circuit, top candidate and top achievers.
