Community members gather to hear about the gravel road project

Alfred Duma Local Municipality held two community meetings in Ward 36 on Tuesday (April 4) to introduce two gravel road projects with a cost of R3 million each.

The community gathered at the Sgweje tribal court and KwaHlathi community hall in Ward 36 to hear more about the projects, which are aimed to be completed within an estimated time of three months.

Ward Councillor Simelane and Municipal Chief Whip Themba Njapha met with the community to introduce them to the concept, as well as the construction companies that will be doing the work.

The first project is the uMbango and Green gravel road of 1.1km, plus a bridge. This meeting was held in the Sgweje tribal court.

The other project will be known as the Kwa Mhlongo to Kwa Sithole gravel road, which will be 3km long and will be constructed in KwaHlathi. Both of these projects are estimated to begin in July 2017.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality say they will continue to make the lives of the community better.
