A pile of trash at the roadside in Shepstone Road has left motorists and pedestrians alike unhappy with the unpleasant sight.
The rubbish is piled up right next to the road and finds its way onto the roadway, leaving motorists with the problem of having to avoid it as they drive along.
The trash has been there since the weekend, and includes empty wine boxes and food takeaway trays. It also consists of sacks containing waste material.

Residents fear that this vacant land will constantly be used as an illegal dump site if the municipality does nothing about it.
“This is an unpleasant sight for us residents and is downgrading our town as well.
“People should be made aware that this is not a dump site, just vacant land. A board notifying people about the penalties of illegal dumping should be put up so people can learn about the consequences of their actions,” said a concerned resident.
Residents add that the punishment for illegal dumping should be strongly enforced, as it dirties up the town of Ladysmith.
